Alterations Workshop

What you will be doing: We’ll start with a quick, hands-on alterations lesson, then jump into mending, tweaking, and transforming your pieces. Simple fixes can often be wrapped up in the 90-minute session, while bigger projects may need a take-home “game plan” from your instructor. You’ll also pick up tips and tricks by watching other participants’ projects in action.

What do you bring?:

  • A few garments/items that need some love!
  • Any additional materials needed (buttons, zippers, patch fabric, etc.).
  • Matching thread
Examples of Suitable Projects:
  • Replacing buttons or fixing zippers
  • Hemming, shortening, or lengthening garments
  • Repairing tears or worn areas
  • Taking in or letting out seams
  • Adjusting waistbands
  • Small tweaks to improve fit or silhouette
