Quilt Coat Class

What you will be doing: In this 6 week class, we’ll take you through the whole process of making a quilted coat, which will surely be a staple in your wardrobe for years to come! We will be working from the Ilford Jacket pattern from Friday Pattern Company, which is unisex and looks great on a range of gender expressions, body types, and sizes (it goes up to a 60” chest/bust and 63” hip). You’ll get the opportunity and hands-on support to design and customize your coat to fit your body and style. There is nothing more cozy for Fall than a quilted coat!

You may have homework and The Stitch Easy studio space and tools are free for students to use during shop hours through the duration of the 6 week class period.

What do you bring?: More specific guidance on supplies will be sent by the instructor closer to the class date, and will depend on how you choose to design your coat. Supplies will include fabric for the outside and lining of your jacket, fabric for binding, a copy of the Ilford Jacket pattern, quilt batting, basting pins or spray, thread, and of course your sewing machine! Pattern and supplies are available in shop and can be purchased with a 10% class discount.
