Beginner Sewing I



What you will be doing: 

  • Through 3 beginner-friendly projects, we will lay a foundation of sewing knowledge that will allow you to take on more complex projects

  • Sets you up with skills that will be equally applicable to quilting, garment sewing, or just about any other type of sewing!

  • You are welcome to bring your own machine if you have one, but we have machines you can borrow

  • Includes free studio time to work on your projects outside of class


What do you bring?: Supply list will be given with class registration - Project kits will be available for purchase. If you have your own machine - bring it! Let us know what kind it is beforehand so we can find the manual for you if you don't have it. If you don't have a machine - we have one that you can use.

* This class is designed for age 16+
* Cancellation Notice: We kindly ask that makers give a minimum 72 hours' notice of cancellation or rescheduling needs. This advance notice will allow us to make any necessary adjustments to our schedule and accommodate other makers.

Refunds: Class cancellations made with a 72 hour notice or more will either receive a full refund on a gift card, or a full refund minus the $5 card processing fee to the card that was used to purchase the class registration. This fee accounts for the costs associated with the transaction and ensures a smooth and secure refund process.

Skill Details: If you have an inherited sewing machine, new sewing machine or are interested in learning to sew but don't have a machine yet and you have no idea how to use it - this class is for you!

Instructor: Mikayla Turner
Instructor Bio: Mikayla Turner (@mikayla_sews) is a lifelong sewist who has found that the only thing she loves more than spending time at her machine is teaching others to sew! She primarily sews garments but has been known to make quilts from time to time. Her insatiable curiosity drives her to learn everything she can about sewing, always expanding her skill and expertise. As an instructor she has a particular passion for teaching beginners, and strives to create a learning environment that is welcoming, accessible and inclusive.
