Here in Southwest Florida it already feels like Summer. I missed Me-Made May but it is never too late to make our own clothes right?! The heat and humidity is creeping in and light-weight fabrics are on my mind! Here are three beginner-friendly patterns that I plan on making myself for the Summer.

First, the Free-Range Slacks by Sew House Seven. This easy breezy pants pattern comes in sizes 00-20 and 18-34. I plan on making mine in this soft Brussels Washer linen in Flax (we also have it in a beautiful Ocean color). If you haven't sewn with Brussels Washer linen yet - it is a linen rayon blend that has a fabulous drape and it is perfect for garments, tote bags and even quilts.

Second up, The Westcliff Dress by Friday Pattern Company. This pattern has a couple of different variations and I'm deciding between making the maxi length or the shorter length. This light-weight Art Gallery Fabrics knit is so rich and beautiful and I just love the colors!

Third up, the Cielo Top by Closet Core Patterns! Now, I have made this pattern before with a really pretty yellow rayon with hot pink tigers on it. I was making the puffy sleeve version and realized I did not have quite enough fabric and ended up creating a bit of a ruffly short sleeve instead and it is still one of my favorite tops. Even though I ended up making humongous arm holes because I did it wrong and now I have to wear a tank top so you don't accidentally get a sneak peak of anything. Ha! My new correct version will be made of this cutie organic lawn from Birch Fabrics. I think it will be pretty with the Free-Range Slacks and a classic look that will carry into Fall and on.
